BAP-2 pond air pump produces .06 cfm of oxygen to ponds, fish holding tanks, and hydroponic systems. Oxygenated water is critical for keeping fish and aquatic life alive and healthy. Aerating the water also benefits the bacteria living inside biological filters.
The fish holding tanks shown here feature the PA-500 pond aeration kit. The PA-500 can also be used to aerate fish hospital tanks and holding tanks during pond cleanings.
The BAP-2 pond air pump is not rated for outdoor use. If using the PA-500 outdoors, the air pump must be protected from the weather. The BAP-2 small pond air pump is not weather resistant or submersible.
The PA-500 pond aeration kit includes one 2″ ball diffuser and 20' of 4 mm black air tubing. The maximum depth for the diffuser with the PA-500 is 24″.
High Efficiency PA-500 Pond Aeration System
Running on just 2 watts of electricity, this whisper-quiet aeration pump costs virtually nothing to run. You can feel good about providing constant aeration to your pond, fish tank, or hydroponic system.
Aeration is extremely important. A healthy ecosystem requires a constant supply of oxygen. The PA-500 aeration kit provides .06 cubic feet of oxygen per minute to the water. This increases and maintains higher levels of dissolved oxygen in the water. Also, the rising air bubbles increase water circulation.
During warmer months, warmer pond water contains less dissolved oxygen than colder water. Adding a PA-500 pond aeration kit with a diffuser ball will help keep fish and the ecosystem healthy. Higher levels of oxygen dissolved in your pond increases the metabolism rate of the beneficial bacteria living in your biological pond filter.
During periods of freezing weather – the rising air bubbles from a PA-500 pond aeration kit with the ball diffuser will keep a hole open in the ice. The churning bubbles prevent the pond from completely freezing over. Keeping a hole open in the pond is critical for the health of your fish. An open hole in the ice allows for potentially harmful gasses to escape the water.
The Benefits of a PA-500 Aeration Kit and Hydroponics
Hydroponics is proved to have several advantages over soil gardening. The growth rate on a hydroponic plant is 30-50 percent faster than a soil plant, grown under the same conditions. The yield of the plant is also greater. Scientists believe that there are several reasons for the drastic differences between hydroponic and soil plants. The extra oxygen supplied by the BAP-2 small pond air pump in the hydroponic growing mediums helps to stimulate root growth. Plants with ample oxygen in the root system also absorb nutrients faster.
