Aeration is extremely important. A healthy ecosystem requires a constant supply of oxygen. The RWK-6 linear pond air pump provides 2.12 cubic feet of oxygen per minute to the water. This increases and maintains higher levels of dissolved oxygen in the water. Also, the rising air bubbles increase water circulation.
During warmer months, warmer pond water contains less dissolved oxygen than colder water. Adding a PA-6000 pond aeration kit with its two 6" squared cylinder air stones will help keep fish and ecosystem healthy. Higher levels of oxygen dissolved in your pond increases the metabolism rate of the beneficial bacteria living in your biological pond filter.
During periods of freezing weather – the rising air bubbles from a PA-6000 pond aeration kit and its two 6" squared cylinder air stones will keep a hole open in the ice. The churning bubbles prevent the pond from completely freezing over. Keeping a hole open in the pond is critical for the health of your fish. An open hole in the ice allows for potentially harmful gasses to escape the water.
